Steam Winter Sale Dates Announced
It’s no secret at this point that Valve has been very proactive about creating sales and providing discounts for many games throughout a variety of different genres for their users on their popular Steam platform. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why their user base is as large as it is, but they certainly aren’t showing any signs of slowing down with the discounts. Their pattern of one colossal sale per season, and it seems to be continuing.
Their Autumn sale concluded just recently about two weeks ago, and it was absolutely epic. They had several classic games discounted all the way under $1, along with other discounts on both games and accessories, including hardware-related items, across their platform. Now it’s time to fast-forward to winter, and with that comes yet another sale. Valve announced the dates of their Winter sale, and unsurprisingly it’s right exactly around Christmas time.
These days Valve doesn’t keep the dates a secret, they’re known ahead of time so users can plan accordingly and be prepared and allocate some capital to take advantage. Valve recently announced that the Winter sale will begin on December 22nd, and this is music to the ears of gamers because this is arguably the best sale of the year every year, along with the one that just concluded around Black Friday. With Christmas quickly approaching, discounted games are becoming very important for those looking for gifts without wanting to spend too much.
Although the Lunar New Year deal has been discontinued temporarily on Steam, the Winter sale will apparently be lasting for approximately two weeks and will provide ample opportunities to pick up your favorite releases not just for Christmas, but also through New Year’s Day as well. Those familiar with Steam won’t be surprised by the news as it’s a recurring theme annually, but given the global conditions at the moment it’s a great chance to select some real quality games for affordable prices.
The sale is now just two weeks away, but traffic on Steam’s platform doesn’t seem to be slowing down. They are still a top platform in the industry in terms of hours played and daily concurrent users, primarily due to their large selection of both free and paid games throughout many different genres. Their seasonal sales also contribute to the steady traffic, both providing deals for veteran users and also bringing new users aboard through promotions and marketing, and helping them get their feet wet on Steam.
Right now we aren’t sure about the outlook for 2023 for Steam as we turn the calendars over to the beginning of the new year, but if 2022 was any indication we can expect another strong year. The seasonal sales are expected to remain in tact for next year as well, along with their library of games increasing and integration of Steam’s products into other industries as well.
