Steam Autumn Sale Begins Today

Nov 23, 2022

Valve has been known to have seasonal sales over the last few years, each of which providing significant value to users on their platform. Perhaps the best of all though, is the Autumn Sale that is released in coordination with Black Friday and Thanksgiving, and it starts today as gamers across the globe are flocking to their platform to check out what’s available.

The sale starts today, November 22nd, at 1pm EST (6pm UK), and features discounts on some of the top games on the entire platform, such as Cyberpunk 2077. Valve released an announcement trailer that details the discounts on the platform, ranging from new to old games, including some classics as well. Additionally, some hardware related items are on sale, as gamers will be looking to accumulate accessories as well as games.

Some of the games that Valve displayed in the trailer include:

  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Hades
  • Hitman 3
  • Slime Rancher 2
  • Stray
  • Disney Dreamlight Valley

The beauty of sales such as this is that there are so many games to choose from for every genre available, so it’s very hard to not find something either for yourself or as a gift. This time around they’ve also included some of the hottest games out right now so they really are focusing on providing benefits to loyal platform users as their number of concurrent users is always impressive month after month.

This particular sale is likely to be the best of the year from Valve, since the holiday season generally provides the best discounts. Families and friends are scrambling for gifts, and this year is more difficult for many given the current conditions of the world. Valve’s sale is released in coordination with Black Friday sales from tons of other retailers that include discounts on all sorts of gaming and tech-related items, as well as accessories. Perhaps this is the single best time of the entire year to capitalize on prices that will likely disappear within a week or two.

It’s been a very successful year so far for Valve as they’ve been able to knock out most of their Steam Deck reservations that were backed up significantly from COVID-19 issues, and all while they’ve been able still to drastically increase their library of games on Steam’s platform. Their mix of free-to-play and paid games accommodate just about every type of gamer, and around the holiday season it’s great to have a gigantic selection, since more games and items can be discounted and eventually sold, creating extra holiday revenue for them. Many gaming companies in the industry point to this time of year as very important in the ability to generate more units sold.
