Popular Games on Steam on Sale for $1
If you thought Steam’s Autumn Sale wasn’t enticing enough, it just got pretty insane with some new deals. Some classic games are being discounted all the way below $1, and it’s arguably one of the best sales in the entire gaming market at the moment. A few of the games on sale are actually created by Valve, which may have something to do with it, but regardless it’s a great opportunity to grab some great games for essentially nothing.
To start, a couple FPS classics, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, are both $0.99 until tomorrow, November 29th. Despite being 14 years old, these classics help set the bar for quality FPS’s before the likes of Call of Duty came around. Many games since then have tried to emulate the zombie-based FPS but never really succeeded compared to the originals.
Additionally, both Portal and Portal 2 are also on sale for $1. These games are pretty widely regarded as classics as well, with a huge following. Both releases were ranked very highly and given spectacular reviews, as Portal 2 was one of the highest ranked games ever. It’s pretty hard to believe that they’re so cheap, but that’s what you get around the holiday season, and Steam never disappoints with their sales.
Lastly, as if the first few releases weren’t fantastic enough, the entire Half Life series with the exception of Half Life: Alyx is also under $1 for the remainder of the Autumn Sale. Along with this, various releases in the Counter-Strike series are as well. These are some absolute classics basically given away for free, and Valve is looking to get rid of tons of copies. This is perhaps the best chance maybe ever to get these games discounted this low, and once the Autumn Sale is over that opportunity will be gone for quite some time.
The Autumn Sale is usually Steam’s best yearly sale since it coordinates with Black Friday and heading into Christmas. This year has once again proven that it’s the case. While gaming is still at the peak of its popularity, discounts on great games, on the other hand, are difficult to come by nowadays because of inflation.
Opportunities do arise at times, and this is one of those times. This is the beauty of Steam, they have something for everyone and have both paid and free-to-play games, and since their user base is so large and Valve makes so much money, they can put classic games on sale as a way of giving back to their loyal community.
